New Hat Collection for Spring/Summer 2019

Our New Hat Collection for Spring/Summer 2019

As 2019 is now well under, way we are very busy designing our new hat collection for this year.
Already orders are being placed and it is becoming an exciting time for us.

This year our collection will be based on the fashion colours of the year as well as being inspired by the couture fashion house's dress designs.

Flowers will be heavily featured. We will be designing around flowers of various sizes, making our own out of silk and other materials we know are popular.

From large picture hats to smallest of fascinators our bespoke pieces will be designed with our clients. They will be made to either compliment or match the colour of the outfits. In our shop in the centre of Reading, Berkshire, there will also be a collection of pashminas available to compliment outfits for those cooler days or evenings.

Wedding Style Guide: How to wear a hat to a wedding

Whether you are the mother of the bride or groom, the bride herself or just a guest wanting to make a statement, here is our guide to wearing hats to a wedding. The points listed below are just a guide, but ultimately we would always suggest you wear whatever you feel most comfortable in.

1. Hat etiquette/positioning
Ladies hats are traditionally worn on the right as dictated by old etiquette where the lady would wear her hat on the right, while her gentleman partner would wear his sword to the left, balancing each other out. Of course nowadays hats can be worn on either side as we no longer follow this etiquette, but you will generally find any purchased hat will be made to be worn on the right or with the decoration on the right. If you would prefer a hat on the left this is perfectly acceptable and a milliner will happily make one for you.

2. Hat proportion
The hat size should be in proportion with the wearer. If you are petite, a pillbox hat or smaller brimmed hat will probably suit…
